Job Description
- Experience in the design of switch mode power supplies.
- Actively lead design reviews and evaluation of power electronic circuit designs.
- Design and evaluation of magnetic components; transformer and inductor.
- Perform Circuit, worst-case and thermal analyses.
- Pursue and evaluate new technologies for power electronics.
- Work collaboratively with manufacturing engineering to assure that design-for-manufacturing and design-for-reliability principles are consistently applied to all development programs.
- Understanding of magnetic materials.
- Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including product development team support as appropriate.
- Must work onsite within the facility.
- Works in an environment where continuous improvement methods are utilized to design, ensure manufacturability, and maintain a high level of quality in our products and according to customer specifications and expectations.
- Manages a workload with constantly changing variables such that the business plan is not affected.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, required. In leiu of degree 9-11 years of experience can be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the design and development of power electronics devices.
- Strong technical skills and ability to work within cross-functional product development teams.
- Strong presentation and technical writing skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- High level of creativity with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Lead and drive high performance engineering programs with a strong focus on program execution and rigor, customer satisfaction, and speed to market.
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound technical judgment.
- Ability to maintain a proactive and positive approach to resolve challenging technical issues.
- Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments, ability to prioritize tasks and meet challenging schedules and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate comfortably and effectively including ability to present findings in formal and in ad-hoc situations and answer resulting questions from management.
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a US person under US export laws or, eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license. A US Person includes a US citizen, lawful Permanent Resident, refugee or asylee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of experience in the design and a development of power electronic devices is preferred. Designing for military and aerospace environmental compliance (Electrical Input Power, Thermal Limits, Mechanical Shock and Vibration)
- Master of Science degree
- Understanding of EMI/EMC filter design.
- Familiarity with military standards; MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-981, MIL-PRF-27, MIL-STD-38534/5, etc.
- Familiarity with radiation effects in SPACE environments.
- Must be highly self-motivated and self-directed and able to take minimal direction and produce sound technical solutions.
- Strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the customer community.
