Job Description
• Perform and document X-ray imaging studies with a variety of sources, detectors and
geometries on sample parts.
• Analyze and recommend X-ray imaging components including type of source, detector
and X-ray technique for a given industrial application.
• Troubleshoot imaging related problems for both in-house and field systems.
• Participate in imaging related activities for system testing.
• Apply known principles and techniques to examine, inspect and certify images of
customer provided materials and complete required documents according to specific
procedures and requirements.
• Monitor emerging imaging technology developments and determine applicability.
• Conduct experimental investigations with new imaging components and technologies.
• Work closely with sales team and upper management
• Interact with a cross-disciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, software,
imaging) to review, define, and design integrated system solutions to meet
requirements of worldwide customers
• Acquire necessary certifications by attending relevant courses and passing certification
tests.
• Develop and maintain best practices and quality processes for entire imaging function
• Travel to customer sites worldwide to perform application studies, training, inspections
or demonstrations and/or to participate in system installation, repairs or
troubleshooting: approx 50%.
Essential Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• At least five (5) years’expperience in image processing and applications.
• Familiarity working with at least two of the following: image quality, image physics,
image sensors, cameras, frame-grabbers, computer interfaces or imaging related
hardware
• Prior usage of MATLAB, C/C++, C# or Visual Basic
• Proficiency in the English language with established written and verbal communication
skills
• Must be up to date with all of the latest technologies
• Prior experience in a quality assurance, controlled design environment. (ISO 9000,
NQA-1, or similar)
• Must be highly organized and self motivated
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US and able to obtain un-escorted clearance
to work and Government sites
