Job Description
The AS9100 Specialist is an advanced-level auditor performing in-depth system and procedural audits. This role is considered an expert in AS9100 and audit preparations. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Essential Functions:
· Carry out internal audits of the Quality Management system and identify gaps of the QMS to AS9100 requirements. Identifies potential risks with the QMS and creates mitigation plans.
· Assists the Quality Assurance Manager in performing the gap analysis (AS13000) and closing out corrective actions prior to the audit.
· Oversees the completion of corrective actions from internal audits, management review, and evaluation of QMS risks.
· Works with staff and the Production Manager in carrying out audit activities and provide guidance as needed.
· Assists Quality Assurance Manager in preparing the QMS data package presented to the AS9100 auditor.
· Works with the team to review documentation and processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
· Experience working in manufacturing environments as it relates to AS9100, and experience in leading AS9100 audits.
· Experience with RCCA analysis and strong background in Quality principles and error proofing.
· Ability to work in dynamic environments and manage multiple deadlines. Organizational skills are critical to ensure project is carried out without delays.
· Excellent communication skills in order to clearly convey ideas and action plans, written or verbal as well as good investigative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to
detail.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Industrial Engineering, Process/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
Certifications are a plus (AS9100 Lead Auditor, PMP, Sigma, etc)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Extensive Audit experience and in-depth knowledge of AS9100. Experience conducting gap analysis.
Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure, MS Office or Google Suite. 6Sigma/Lean tool knowledge, knowledge of Quality tools (RCCA, APQP, FMEA, etc.)
