Job Description
The Production Manager oversees and manages the operations of the production area to ensure that volume, cost, waste and quality standards are achieved. Works under the direct supervision of senior operations staff.
Essential Functions:
· Follows overall production schedules to manage staffing and establish daily and shift production goals.
· Monitors shift production metrics to identify and resolve issues and implements process improvements.
· Coordinates maintenance, turnarounds and downtime for efficiency and speed.
· Ensures that staff training processes, equipment gear and tool requirements are fulfilled to comply with health and safety regulations.
· Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
· Utilizes Production inputs to keep sales informed of production status.
· Oversees Production scheduling for Tucson and Hauppauge assembly.
· Reviews standard labor and cost utilizing GMS reporting.
· Develops a high level of understanding of AS9100 Quality System.
· Leads and implements continuous improvements.
· Creation and following up on corrective actions – a MRB team member.
· Communicates regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
· Establishes a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
· Collaborates with other departments and team members to set goals for the production team.
· Performs other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5-7 years of Production experience in a leadership role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to coach, train and motivate employees.
