Job Description

Responsible for the design, development and implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of company products in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Performs analysis on reported nonconformities and discrepancies related to assembly for improvement, process, mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical systems, field and clinical data. Further investigates the cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommend corrective action plans. Additional duties typically include, developing and implementing quality control procedures and providing guidance and training to junior engineers.

Essential Functions: 

  • Serves as the primary interface to customers and supplier for quality related matters.
  • Conducts program quality cost account management and manages supplier corrective actions.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. 
  • Leads material review board.
  • Ensure compliance to company and customer requirements.
  • Lead MRB for the review and disposition of nonconforming product.
  • Identify RCCA for nonconformances and customer complaints.
  • Perform AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.  
  • Usage of OGP, caliper, drop gage, comparator, XRF and similar tools.
  • Analyze Quality data and interface with Production and Engineering to identify and implement product and process improvements.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to resolve complex quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the product lifecycle. 
  • Collaborating with suppliers to establish quality requirements, conduct supplier assessments, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and industry standards.
  • Other projects assigned by your manager

Qualifications:

  • Requires strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, BSME preferred.
  • Working knowledge of microelectronics and waveguide products.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical blueprints & tolerances.
  • Strong technical expertise in aerospace engineering principles, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
  • Previous experience working in an AS9100 environment.
  • Previous experience with AS9102 First Article Inspections.
  • Familiar with industry standards such as Mil Specs 883, IPC-A-610.
