Job Description
The Calibration technician is responsible for calibrating, reworking and repairing equipment as required and authorized.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Maintain certification for master inspection gauges.
· Calibrate mechanical and hydraulic measuring equipment.
· Coordinate outside services for calibration not performed in-house.
· Review and approve certifications received from subcontracted calibration laboratories.
· Maintain recall and inventory of gauging and process equipment.
· Rework and repair equipment as authorized.
· Identify and incorporate monitoring and measuring equipment into the calibration system by marking that device with a unique identification/serial number traceable to a calibration record.
· Maintain and store calibration standards, records and equipment manuals.
· Purchase test fluid contamination testing services.
· Purchase metallurgical analysis of raw materials in inventory.
· Purchase instrument repair services.
· Create and revise existing calibration procedures, as required.
· Investigate and report historical performance of instruments found to be significantly out of tolerance during calibration.
· Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on gages as required.
· Perform all other duties as assigned or required.
· With progressively less direction, understand and apply standard procedures and processes within primary functional area.
· Act resourcefully to ensure that work is completed within specified time and quality parameters.
· Effectively contribute to the successful completion of work/projects when appropriate.
· Adhere to standards, methods, and procedures. Identify areas for continuous improvement.
· Demonstrate responsiveness and promptness in serving internal/external customer needs.
· Ensure thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures.
· Perform periodic reviews of calibration laboratories potential expiration of ISO17025 certification.
· Control and maintain records of the issuance of Ausco equipment in support of supplier needs.
· Participates on customer and third party visits with respect to the calibration system.
