Job Description
To inspect production parts and components for conformance to company, customer and industry standard requirements.
· To alert management when discrepancies are observed.
· To maintain the integrity and Quality of Companies products so that we meet or exceed the requirements of AS 9100 and our customers.
2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES/AUTHORITY
· Read and interpret complex machining and fabrication/assembly drawings.
· Generate and perform inspection plans for company products.
· Mechanical inspection of parts and material for initial qualification, and ongoing production.
3.0 DUTIES
· Perform first piece, in process and final inspections under direction and log the results of all inspection work.
· Inspect with standard QC inspection equipment such as calipers, optical comparators, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, pin gauges, thread gauges, etc.
· Set up, under direction, inspection of complex parts.
· Keep records and certifications, etc. in an organized manner.
· Use a computer and operating software to access data, retrieve data, etc.
· Generate rejection reports for non-conforming product for review by MRB.
4.0 EDUCATION
· High School GED or equivalent.
· Knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing a plus.
5.0 EXPERIENCE
· 2+ years of inspection in an aerospace manufacturing environment or equivalent.
· Familiarity with commercial standards, military standards, ISO standards, AS standards, etc. a plus.
6.0 PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
· Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work-place.
· Detailed oriented.
7.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
· Quality Manager.
