Job Description
• Design and develop electro-mechanical and/or material handling systems in accordance with
National codes and standards.
• Create and modify concept drawings, detailed design, assembly, and fabrication drawings; BOMs;
O&M manuals; and other related design documentation.
• Review and approve system design drawings generated by other MEs
• Oversee version control and engineering change control process for all mechanical engineering
documentation produced.
• Generate 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks.
• Interact with sales team, assisting with system proposals and scope review (concept drawings,
costing, etc.)
• Interact with a cross-disciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, software, imaging) located
in CT and NY to review, define, and design integrated system solutions to meet requirements of
worldwide customers.
• Produce, verify, and review engineering calculations to verify design.
• Mentor and train junior mechanical engineering staff members, as applicable.
• Travel to customer sites worldwide to participate in technical discussions, kick off meetings, oversee
installations, or trouble shoot.
• Potential travel to sister facilities within the US and in India, China, and France to work with team on
current or future projects, as required (Approx. 15% travel).
Essential Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7 to 10 years of experience designing electro-mechanical and/or mechanical systems from concept
through assembly level design.
• Must be experienced in the design of mechanical systems, write design specifications for the
purchase of equipment.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Expertise in SolidWorks 3D CAD tool.
• Significant exposure to civil works such as construction of concrete buildings
• Prior experience working with, and generating BOMs within, an MRP or ERP system.
• Prior experience in a QA controlled design environment.
• Working knowledge of pneumatic controls
• Experience writing design specifications.
